The end of summer doesn’t mean the end of festival season here in Manitoba! When it comes to fall activities and festivals to explore, our province has so much to offer.

If you’re looking for ways to make the most of this beautiful season, here are 6 events to check out.

CULTURE DAYS

When: September 22 – October 15, 2023

Where: Across Manitoba

Admission: FREE

What To Expect: Rediscover your city, community and province! No matter your age, Culture Days offers everyone a chance to try something new. The Canada-wide celebration features FREE activities across Manitoba including visual arts, Indigenous arts and traditional practices, educational tours, community street festivals, collective art-making projects, interactive installations, storytelling and avant-garde performance art! NUIT BLANCHE

When: September 23, 2023

Where: St. Boniface, Exchange District, Downtown

Admission: FREE

What To Expect: Celebrate a FREE, all-night exploration and celebration of contemporary art as part of Culture Days in Manitoba! Artists, galleries, cultural organizations and independent curators host free events from dusk to dawn for one special night. REEL PRIDE FILM FESTIVAL

When: September 26 – 30, 2023

Where: Gas Station Arts Centre, 445 River Avenue

Admission: $11.98 – $60.00

What To Expect: Reel Pride Film Festival is the annual project of The Winnipeg Gay and Lesbian Film Society, Inc., a non-profit community group formed in 1985 to bring LGBTTQ* film to Winnipeg audiences. Expect multiple festival events and film showings in fantastic venues, along with exciting partnerships with local organizations and artists. Tickets and details can be found here.

WALL-TO-WALL MURAL & CULTURE FESTIVAL

When: September 1 – 30, 2023

Where: Various Locations, Winnipeg

What To Expect: The Wall-to-Wall Mural & Culture Festival brings together Winnipeg’s communities through art, music, dance and more! The festival started as a collective dream and mission to bring accessible art into people’s everyday lives. The community-focused events highlight equal parts mural, music, and mentorship. THIN AIR FESTIVAL

When: September 20 – October 18, 2023

Where: Various Locations, Winnipeg

What To Expect: THIN AIR Festival is a month-long celebration of books and ideas that brings readers and writers together! Discover a virtual hub of creative content and a lively array of real-time events. Watch and listen to readings, glimpse the behind-the-scenes details of a writer’s life and sign up for writing workshops to develop your own skills. Watch for future details here.

BREW AT THE ZOO

When: September 15, 2023

Where: Assiniboine Park & Zoo

What To Expect: Brew at the Zoo is an after-hours, 18+ event showcasing Manitoba’s craft brewers! Also, try out unlimited samples of brews, cider and spirits from other parts of Canada and around the world.
